Jungle Book Cast Talk

There are 2 Jungle Book movies coming out in the coming years. One from Disney in 2016 and one from Warner Bros. titled 'Jungle Book: Origins'.
And both of them have very interesting casting. At least in terms of the voices

Let's start with Disney:
For Baloo the Bear we have Bill Murray, which I think fits. Baloo is a fun loving, laid back bear and I think Murray can channel that well.

For Bagheera the Panther we have Sir Ben Kingsley, you have a very dignified actor playing a wise character.

Kaa the Snake will be voiced by...Scarlett Johanssan? Well...I can see it working. She's a great actor and I think for Kaa she could play it as a slightly slimier and seductive version of Black Widow, or she may do it her own way. Who Knows? I'm willing to give her a shot!

Shere Khan the Tiger's voice will be provided by Idris Elba, excellent casting!

And then there's King Louie the Orangutan. Oh boy, you'll never guess who they got to voice him.

Yup, Christopher Walken. I...have no words I just really wanna see what he'll do with this character, he can make anything entertaining.

Now we have Jungle Book: Origins, which has an equally fascinating cast:
We have Andy Serkis, the guy who brought characters like Gollum, King Kong and Caesar from the Planet of the Apes Reboot series will be playing Baloo. Serkis will also be directing and producing the film.

Christian Bale is cast as Bagherra. Another good choice, he has the demeanor necessary for Bagheera.

And continuing the trend of having Kaa be played by a woman, we have Cate Blanchett. Just pray she doesn't go all 'mint-flavored chaos mode' like she does in the Lord of the Rings movies.

And then there's Shere Khan, playing him is an actor who can now put two characters named Khan on his resume: Benedict Cumberbatch! HELL YEAH! I am so sold on this movie now!

What are your thoughts on this casting? The Jungle Book hits theaters on April 15, 2016 and Jungle Book: Origins is scheduled for October 6, 2017.

Till next time, I've been your host Gryphon and I hope you've enjoyed your time here in my lair.
So long...
